Projects for independent life and autonomous living
The FPM supports the Circolo Culturale Giovanile di Porta Romana ONLUS, a reality born out of the dedication of families that have been working for more than twenty years for the inclusion and autonomy of young adults with Down’s Syndrome.
The actions promoted by the Circolo di Porta Romana are based on the principle of cooperative planning of “Progetti di Vita indipendenti,” making it possible for adults with disabilities, their families, the local governmental bodies, and collaborating professionals to dialogue in a context of equality in which everyone has the same right to speak and be heard.
Through its educational and cultural projects and the “Progetto Casa,” which promotes living autonomously, the Circolo accompanies people with Down’s Syndrome in journeys of growth, relationships, and independent living, for appreciating and promoting their skills, identities, and possibilities for autonomy.
