Floriano Priori Pediatric Simulation Center

Fondazione Prossimo Mio contributed to the creation of the Pediatric Simulation Center at the Ospedale dei Bambini Buzzi of Milan .

The project, in collaboration with the Fondazione per l’Ospedale dei Bambini Buzzi, represents an important innovation in the field of health care professional education. Thanks to the use of advanced simulation, the new center allows doctors, nurses, and midwives to practice in realistic clinical situations in order to refine competence, decisional capacity, and teamwork in emergency situations.

Among the simulated situations are:

inhalation of extraneous objects

•

drowning

•

serious burns

•

cardiorespiratory arrest

•

surgical and obstetric emergencies

The center will not only train the personnel of the Ospedale Buzzi, but will also become a point-of-reference for the pediatric network of northern Italy, contributing to the spreading of knowledge and good practices in the entire area.
