Helping the most fragile children and their families
For more than 25 years, the Fondazione Francesca Rava – NPH Italia ETS has been helping children, adolescents, women, and families in fragile conditions in Italy and throughout the world. It promotes concrete interventions in the fields of health, education, welcoming those in difficulty, and social assistance.
The foundation was born with the objective of offering concrete answers to needs emerging during infancy and adolescence by accompanying the most vulnerable children in their journey of growth and guaranteeing them opportunities for care, instruction, and inclusion. Its work develops through programs of continuous support and timely interventions in emergencies while collaborating with institutions, companies, non-profit organizations, and volunteers.
In Italy, the foundation operates in support of minors and families in difficult conditions through numerous projects dedicated to being healthy though poor, to welcoming people who are in distressing situations, and to contrasting social vulnerability. Among the most well-known initiatives is “In Farmacia per I Bambini”, which allows the collection and distribution in participating pharmacies of medicines and pediatric products for children who live in poor situations penalizing health.
Alongside activities within the country’s borders, the foundation is also active in international humanitarian emergencies and in long-term development programs. For years, it has been carrying out important interventions in Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, where it realized and supports health and education projects and the pediatric hospital NPH Saint Damien, a reference point for thousands of children and families.
Furthermore, in Italy the Fondazione Francesca Rava represents the NPH – Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, an international organization that since 1954 has been welcoming and accompanying orphaned and abandoned children by providing houses, schools, and health-related centers in 9 Latin America countries. The objective is to offer the children a future through care, education, and autonomy.
Its commitment also crystalizes in the big emergencies that have struck populations in Italy and the world: earthquakes, floods, pandemics, and humanitarian crises. On these occasions, the foundation has intervened by furnishing basic necessities, health-related support, tools, and help for the communities involved.
Fondazione Prossimo Mio chose to support the Fondazione Francesca Rava because it profoundly shares the mission to put the most fragile children and people at the center, and to promote a culture of care, solidarity, and social responsibility.
